Pips Unlimited

New to Pips Unlimited? Here are puzzle-solving ideas, exact scoring methodologies, and ways to beat the most difficult levels!

Pips Unlimited turns the traditional game of dominoes into an exciting logic puzzle challenge where every single pip matters. Players are not only matching tiles, but rather placing dominoes on a board to meet a set of numerical constraints. Each step influences neighboring cells; therefore, a simple step is a choice that influences the whole solution. What are you waiting for? Join Pips Unlimited now!

Place, Rotate, Solve: Mastering the Gameplay

The gameplay is to choose dominoes, put them on neighboring cells, and rotate them to match the board. Players should look at the numbered hints in each region and work out how the dots on either side of the domino add up to fulfill the needed requirements. The harder a problem, the more important it is to be able to plan many steps, spot helpful combinations, and be flexible in your placements when a promising arrangement strikes a dead end.

Controls

  • Mouse: Drag and drop dominoes from the tray onto the board.
  • Click: Select or rotate a domino.
  • Touch: On touch devices, tap a domino to select it and tap again to rotate.
  • Moving placed dominoes: Drag a placed domino to a new location or drag it off the board to return it to the tray.
  • Hints: Use the hint feature if you get stuck while solving a puzzle.

Rules and Objectives

Each domino occupies two adjacent cells on the board. - All cells must be filled, and domino tiles must not overlap. Each domino tile may be used only once per level. Regions are marked with specific symbols and must adhere to corresponding conditions:

  • Number: The total number of dots in the region must exactly match the displayed number.
  • < / >: The total number of dots must be less than or greater than the target value.
  • =: All cells in the region must contain the same number of dots.
  • ≠: No two cells in the region may contain the same number of dots.
  • No symbol: The region has no additional conditions.

The puzzle is complete when the entire board is filled, and every region satisfies its specific rule.

Every rule matters

Each puzzle has certain restrictions on how dominoes may be placed and what constitutes a legitimate configuration. The tiles must be filled by the players as needed, without overlapping the tiles or having empty cells. Each area has a criterion to be met.

Tips and Strategies

  • Prioritize regions with strict conditions or limited placement options.
  • Calculate the total dots on tiles before placing them in regions with arithmetic constraints.
  • Utilize zero-value tiles for regions requiring a low total value.
  • Pay attention to corner or edge cells, as they have fewer adjacent positions.
  • Save regions without specific conditions for last to maintain flexibility.
  • If an error is detected in a region, re-examine the relevant dominoes before proceeding.
